1. About Ask Max

Ask Max is a property transparency platform that allows users to submit and read reviews, insights, and photos about residential properties, streets, and suburbs in Australia. Our mission is to help renters and buyers make informed decisions.

2. User accounts

To submit a review, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

We use pseudonyms to protect your identity. Your real name and email address are never displayed publicly.

3. Submitting reviews

By submitting a review, you confirm that:

• Your review is based on your genuine personal experience at the property
• You have not been paid or incentivised to write the review
• The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You have the right to share any photos or documents you upload

4. Verification documents

We may ask you to upload a verification document (such as a lease or utility bill) to confirm your tenancy. These documents are used only to verify your connection to the property and are deleted within 48 hours of verification. They are never shared publicly or with third parties.

5. Prohibited content

You must not submit content that:

• Is false, misleading, or defamatory
• Harasses, threatens, or discriminates against any individual
• Violates any person's privacy or intellectual property rights
• Contains personal information about individuals without their consent
• Is submitted in bad faith or for commercial purposes

6. Content moderation

Ask Max reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any content that violates these terms or our community guidelines. We may decline to publish reviews that do not meet our verification or quality standards.

7. Disputes and takedowns

If you believe a review about your property is false or defamatory, you may contact us to request a review. We will investigate all legitimate complaints and take appropriate action. We are not liable for the content submitted by users.

8. Intellectual property

By submitting content to Ask Max, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content on our platform. You retain ownership of your content.

9. Limitation of liability

Ask Max provides this platform as a tool for community information sharing. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any review or insight submitted by users. We are not liable for any decisions made based on content found on our platform.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
